Pastor Matt
Senior Pastor
My name is Matthew VanderVen and I am the Senior and Preaching Pastor at Calvary Chapel Harrisburg-West Shore. My Responsibilities are to love, nourish, and care for the flock and to teach the Word of God, line by line, verse by verse, and precept by precept. I love serving at Calvary Chapel because observing all that the Lord is accomplishing through His ministries, His church, and in the hearts of people, both young and old, has been the greatest pleasure of my life. My heart’s desire is for the flock to be the best fed and loved. There are so many who need Jesus right now, especially in the present age we are living. It is important as always to be faithful to equip saints for the work of the ministry and to encourage the weary and brokenhearted. It is God’s church, and He is to be worshipped and praised. We will experience the wonderful blessings and purpose the Lord has for us if we chose to step out in obedience and faith, experiencing the fullness of God.

Bob Oyler
Leader of Security and Missions
Hello, my name is Robert “Bob” Oyler, and I am an Elder that also participates in board duties, pastoral care, the security team, missions, and Men’s Ministry. My responsibilities are to support the pastors and the ministries of the fellowship. This includes special projects, counseling, training, leading classes, and not the least of these, teaching the Word. My responsibilities are varied but all are focused-on service to the Lord and the flock. I serve because I love my Lord and desire to be faithful to drawing people into a relationship with God through the acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. I gave my life to Jesus as a teenager and have been blessed all the days of my life. I want everyone to know the joy and peace that is available to them once they surrender their lives to Jesus Christ. They are loved and saved because of the grace and mercy of our Loving God.

Aaron Wilson
Elder
My name is Aaron Wilson. Sometime in 2016, I heard on Hope FM that there was a Calvary fellowship meeting near my shop at the time. I closed my doors early just to check it out. Ever since then, I’ve been blessed to sit under the word of God at Calvary Chapel Harrisburg-West Shore. Right away, I knew I was home and was excited to "Abide" with my brothers and sisters in the Lord. It was here that my life chapter became John 15. I have been blessed to serve in so many ministries over the years. I have chosen and get to serve another term as an Elder, managing the church facilities and overseeing the Ushers. My wife Birdie and I also get to lead the College and Career as well as the Hospitality and Greeters Ministry. We truly love equipping the saints, edifying the body of Christ, and growing together in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus.

Lisa VanderVen
Senior Pastor’s Wife
My name is Lisa VanderVen and I am the Senior Pastor’s wife. With the Lords leading, I
teach the women’s Bible study monthly where women gather to hear God’s word and to
encourage each other in scripture. The Lord commands us to be strong and to have good courage,
to not be afraid for He is with us wherever we go. As women’s ministry leader, I “get to”
encourage my dear sisters in Christ to courageously step in faith for the plan and the purpose that
God has for them. It is a privilege and blessing to be used by God in any and all ways to fulfill
His plan.

Preston VanderVen
Teen Ministry Leader
My name is Preston VanderVen and I serve as the Teen Ministry Leader. It is a fantastic blessing and privilege to help the teens grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior. By pouring into them and directing them back to Jesus for wisdom, we are not only training them to carry the mantle that lies before them but also building a strong, supportive community for them. This work is precious as we see Jesus moving and changing hearts, and I am so blessed to
serve at Calvary Chapel Harrisburg- West Shore where I see God move and direct hearts to Him as we gather together as a body to decrease so He can increase.

Emma Bromley

My name is Emma Bromley, and I serve as the Social Media Coordinator. This includes managing the Instagram and Facebook accounts for the church and creating content that best represents the heart of our church and love for the Lord. I love to serve at Calvary Chapel Harrisburg-West Shore because I get to highlight different ministries and what they do, fellowship with the body and get to know them better, and be a vessel that God can use for the building up of the church. I also have the privilege of serving on the Worship Team and at the
Calvary Cafe when I am home from college. Being a part of this church has changed my life, and I am grateful that God brought my family here to sit under the Word every Sunday and Wednesday. There is nothing sweeter than getting to experience the saints gathering in love, supporting one another, and drawing each other closer to God. Thank you, Jesus!

Andrea Johnson
Worship Team Leader
My name is Andrea Johnson and I serve as worship team leader. It is such a blessing to serve with worshippers who prefer one another in love and humility, who work hard all week to prepare for services and special events, and who are united in purpose to lead the church joyfully in giving honor and glory to the Lord. We desire that our worship be Spirit led and in line with the Word that goes forth in our weekly services.

Crystal Barna
Cleaning Ministry
My name is Crystal Barna, and I serve as the Cleaning Ministry Leader. My
responsibilities are to ensure that all areas of the church are cleaned and well-maintained. I
wouldn’t have imagined I would be serving at the church, let alone leading a ministry. But God
knew. He knew I would be saved in this church and baptized in this church. He knew I was made
for such a time as this. There are a few reasons why I love serving at the church. The main
reason is my love for the Lord and my desire to be more like him. One way to be more like Jesus
is to be an example of what He can do in someone’s life—-just like he did in my life!

consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a

Jennifer McEvers
Church Secretary/Assistant
My name is Jennifer McEvers, and I work in Administration and oversee the church and
school office duties. Serving at the church has been the greatest blessing. Observing the growth
of the church, the fellowship in Christ, and the love among the people has been an incredible
experience. It beautifully testifies to the Lord's work as He continues to move through our church
family and ministries. Everyone is called to serve God in various ways. He has a specific purpose
and plan for each of us. Out of faith and obedience, we should respond to His calling to advance
His kingdom and glory.
